QUALITY AND BREED STANDARDS

Breeding quality Wirehaired Pointing Griffons is an incredibly fulfilling but challenging endeavor. The goal of our breeding program is to positively contribute to the health and success of WPGs as a whole, whether that be a show dog, hunting dog or family companion. We accomplish that by creating a foundation of exceptional Wirehaired Pointing Griffons that have been thoroughly screened and selected from top-tier studs and bitches. River is an AKC Grand Champion, has a Junior Hunter Title and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen. That means he is a wonderful example of what the breed standard says he should be both in the show ring and in the field. More importantly though is his temperament.

HEALTH TESTING MEANS PIECE OF MIND

Just like our dogs, we hold ourselves to a high standard. We do this not just to be able to offer exceptional-quality Wirehaired Pointing Griffon puppies and stud services, but because we want to do what is best for our dogs and the entire breed. River has passed all health screenings, including elbows, hips, eyes and thyroid. Bitches bred to River must have passed these screening as well. We want to ensure any offspring has the best chance possible for not developing any genetic condition that could negatively impact them and our breed.

Personality & Temperament Trump All

We are passionate dog lovers and as such we are passionate about breeding the very best. We ensured our dogs were worthy of confirmation and hunt title, but there is more to it than just titles and pedigrees.  What matters most to us and hopefully you, is the dog’s temperament. River is patient, kind, gentle and smart. He will hunt as hard as you will allow him and be a trustworthy companion for any adventure you have in mind. The breed standard says Wirehaired Pointing Griffons should be devoted family members and should have a friendly temperament that is endearing to all. River will greet you with a present, a wagging tail, a wiggly butt, and will likely lick you in the face with reckless abandon. A Griff that doesn’t respond to you in such a way is not a Griff you want to breed to.we
